Products That Can React With Afeditab

Afeditab Interactions Explained

The following sections explain in detail the potentially negative interactions that can occur when Afeditab CR is combined with any of the drugs listed above.

Certain Antibiotics and Antifungals
Taking Afeditab CR with certain antibiotics or antifungals can increase the level of Afeditab CR in your blood, increasing your risk of side effects. Your healthcare provider should monitor your blood pressure (and may need to lower your Afeditab CR dosage) while you are taking certain antibiotics or antifungals.

Beta Blockers
Combining Afeditab CR with a beta blocker may increase your risk of side effects, especially low blood pressure (hypotension) and congestive heart failure (CHF). Your healthcare provider should monitor you closely if you are taking a beta blocker with Afeditab CR.

Cimetidine (Tagamet)
Cimetidine may increase the level of Afeditab CR in your blood, increasing your risk of Afeditab CR side effects. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your Afeditab CR dose or may suggest an alternative to cimetidine.

Digoxin (Digitek, Lanoxin)
Afeditab CR may increase the level of digoxin in your blood. Because changes in digoxin levels can be dangerous, your healthcare provider should monitor the level of digoxin in your blood and adjust your digoxin dosage as necessary.

Grapefruit Juice
Grapefruit juice can increase the level of Afeditab CR in your blood, even if you do not take Afeditab CR and drink grapefruit juice at the same time of the day. It is best to avoid grapefruit juice altogether while you are taking Afeditab CR. However, if your healthcare provider decides it is okay for you to drink grapefruit juice, you should do so consistently and in moderation.
