Afeditab Side Effects

There are several potential side effects associated with Afeditab CR. Side effects that are most commonly reported with the medication include swelling, headaches, and hot flashes. Some rare but possible side effects of Afeditab CR include a dry mouth, chills, and vomiting. When side effects do occur with Afeditab CR, they tend to be minor. However, if you experience serious problems such as chest pain or an irregular heart rhythm, notify your healthcare provider immediately.

Afeditab Side Effects: An Introduction

As with any medicine, there are possible side effects with Afeditab CR® (nifedipine). However, not everyone who takes the medication will experience side effects. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well. When side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or can easily be treated by you or your healthcare provider.

Common Afeditab Side Effects

Afeditab CR has been studied thoroughly in clinical trials in which the side effects of a group of people taking the drug are documented and compared to another group not taking the medicine.
 As a result, it is possible to see what side effects occur, how often they appear, and how they compare to the group not taking the medicine.
 
In these studies, the most common Afeditab CR side effects included:
 
  • Swelling or water retention in the hands, legs, or feet -- in up to 29 percent of people
  • Headaches -- up to 19 percent
  • Flushing or hot flashes -- up to 4 percent
  • Dizziness -- up to 4 percent.
