Drug Interactions With Aliskiren

ACE inhibitors, potassium products, and cyclosporine are a few of the medications that can lead to drug interactions with aliskiren. These interactions can increase your risk of side effects, such as high potassium levels, or may decrease the effectiveness of the medications. Before starting treatment, talk to your healthcare provider about the specific drug interactions with aliskiren that may apply to you.

Drug Interactions With Aliskiren: An Overview

 Aliskiren hemifumarate (Tekturna®) can potentially interact with several different medications. Some of the medicines that may lead to drug interactions with aliskiren include:

    • Potassium chloride (K-Dur®, Klor-Con®, Micro-K®)
    • Potassium citrate (Urocit-K®, Polycitra-K®)
    • Potassium gluconate
    • Potassium phosphate (Neutra-Phos-K®, K-Phos®)
    • Salt substitutes (used to flavor food)
