Drug Interactions With Amlodipine and Atorvastatin

If certain medications are taken together, there is a possibility for drug interactions. With amlodipine and atorvastatin, interactions can occur if it is taken with statins, spironolactone, or digoxin, among other things. These can increase your risk for potentially serious side effects or decrease the medications' effectiveness. If drug interactions with amlodipine and atorvastatin are a concern, your healthcare provider may monitor you more closely or adjust your dosages.

Amlodipine and atorvastatin (Caduet®) can potentially interact with several other medications. Some of the medicines that may lead to drug interactions with amlodipine and atorvastatin include:
 
 
  • Cimetidine (Tagamet®)
     
  • Cyclosporine (Gengraf®, Neoral®, Sandimmune®)
