Generic Benazepril-Hydrochlorothiazide

Benazepril-hydrochlorothiazide is currently sold in a generic form under the name Benazepril Hydrochloride and Hydrochlorothiazide tablets. It is also known as Benazepril Hydrochloride-Hydrochlorothiazide, Benazepril HCT, or Benazepril HCTZ. There are several strengths of generic benazepril-hydrochlorothiazide available for sale, ranging from Benazepril HCT 5 mg/6.25 mg to Benazepril HCT 20 mg/25 mg.

 

Generic Benazepril-Hydrochlorothiazide: An Overview

Benazepril hydrochloride and hydrochlorothiazide (Lotensin HCT®) is a prescription medication that has been licensed to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Benazepril-hydrochlorothiazide is a combination of two medicines -- Lotensin® and hydrochlorothiazide.
 
Benazepril-hydrochlorothiazide was originally developed by Novartis Pharmaceuticals. It has since come off patent, making it available as a generic.
 

Generic Benazepril-Hydrochlorothiazide -- Strengths

Generic benazepril-hydrochlorothiazide is sold under the name Benazepril Hydrochloride and Hydrochlorothiazide tablets. It is also known as Benazepril Hydrochloride-Hydrochlorothiazide, Benazepril HCT, or Benazepril HCTZ. It is available in several strengths, including:
 
  • Benazepril HCT 5 mg/6.25 mg -- which has 5 mg of benazepril hydrochloride and 6.25 mg of hydrochlorothiazide
     
  • Benazepril HCT 10 mg/12.5 mg -- which has 10 mg of benazepril hydrochloride and 12.5 mg of hydrochlorothiazide
     
  • Benazepril HCT 20 mg/12.5 mg -- which has 20 mg of benazepril hydrochloride and 12.5 mg of hydrochlorothiazide
     
  • Benazepril HCT 20 mg/25 mg -- which has 20 mg of benazepril hydrochloride and 25 mg of hydrochlorothiazide.
