Bisoprolol fumarate (Zebeta®) is a medication often prescribed for the treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension). It belongs to a class of drugs called beta blockers, which work to lower both systolic and diastolic blood pressure by blocking a specific type of beta receptor in the body. Bisoprolol comes in tablet form and is only available in two strengths. It is important to talk to your healthcare provider before taking this medicine if you have hyperthyroidism, diabetes, or angina.
