Bisoprolol 10 mg Tablets

Bisoprolol fumarate (Zebeta®) is approved to treat high blood pressure (known medically as hypertension). This prescription drug can be used alone or in combination with other high blood pressure medications. As a beta blocker, it works to decrease heart rate and lower both systolic and diastolic blood pressure by blocking a specific type of beta receptor in the body.

The medicine comes in tablet form and is available in two strengths: bisoprolol 10 mg tablets and 5 mg tablets. The dose your healthcare provider recommends will vary, depending on a number of factors, including the severity of your high blood pressure, how you respond to the drug, and other medical conditions you may have.

In general, this medication is taken by mouth once a day. You can take it either with a meal or on an empty stomach.
