Clonidine hydrochloride (Catapres®, Catapres-TTS®, Duraclon®) is a prescription drug that comes in the form of tablets, skin patches, and an epidural. Depending on the particular product, it is approved for treating high blood pressure or severe cancer pain. The tablets are usually taken twice daily, while the skin patches are usually applied to the skin once every seven days. Potential side effects include fatigue, headache, and dry mouth.
