Clonidine? Clonodine is a common misspelling of clonidine.
Clonidine hydrochloride (Catapres®, Catapres-TTS®, Duraclon®) is a prescription medicine approved for two different uses. The tablet and skin patch forms of the medication are licensed for the treatment of high blood pressure, while the epidural form is used for treating severe pain in people with cancer. The drug works to decrease blood pressure by stimulating alpha-2 receptors in the brain stem. When used in an epidural to treat pain, it works by blocking pain signals from reaching the brain.
