People with high blood pressure or fluid retention may benefit from using Demadex® (torsemide), a diuretic that is available by prescription. The medication works by increasing the amount of water and salt the kidneys remove from the blood. Most people tolerate Demadex well, and even when side effects occur, they are usually minor. Some side effects of Demadex include diarrhea, irregular heart rhythms, and nausea. Demadex comes in tablet form and is usually taken once a day.
