Aliskiren and Valsartan Drug Information

Available by prescription, aliskiren and valsartan (Valturna®) is a drug often used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) in adults. It works to lower blood pressure by combining two different medications -- Tekturna® (aliskiren) and Diovan® (valsartan). The medicine comes in the form of a tablet and is typically taken once a day.
 
It's important to familiarize yourself with the drug's safety information before starting treatment. For example, aliskiren and valsartan can cause side effects such as fatigue, diarrhea, and high levels of potassium in the blood. In most cases, however, the medicine is well tolerated; any side effects that do occur are usually mild and easy to treat.
