Teveten HCT Medication Information

Teveten® HCT (eprosartan/HCTZ) is a medication used to treat high blood pressure in adults. It is only available with a prescription, and is not approved for use in children younger than 18 years of age. This drug comes in tablet form and is typically taken once a day.

Teveten HCT combines two other prescription blood pressure medications into one pill. These two components work together to lower blood pressure in different ways. The eprosartan component relaxes the blood vessels, while the hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ) component reduces blood volume.

Although the medication is generally well tolerated, it is not suitable for everyone. Before taking Teveten HCT, make sure your healthcare provider has up-to-date information on your medical history and a list of your current medications. In particular, let your healthcare provider know if you have a history of an electrolyte imbalance, strokes, or heart problems.
