Specific Products That React With InnoPran XL

InnoPran XL Drug Interactions Explained

The following sections explain in detail the potentially negative interactions that can occur when InnoPran XL is combined with any of the drugs listed above.

ACE Inhibitors
Combining InnoPran XL with an ACE inhibitor may increase the risk of dangerously low blood pressure or breathing problems. Check with your healthcare provider before taking such medications together.

Alcohol
Alcohol might increase or decrease the level of InnoPran XL in your blood unpredictably. Check with your healthcare provider before drinking alcohol while taking InnoPran XL. Short-term use of alcohol may increase InnoPran XL levels in the bloodstream, while long-term alcohol use may actually decrease levels of the drug.

Alpha Blockers
Combining InnoPran XL with an alpha blocker can increase the risk of dangerously low blood pressure (hypotension). Check with your healthcare provider before combining such medications.

Calcium Channel Blockers
Combining InnoPran XL with certain calcium channel blockers may cause dangerously low blood pressure and (for verapamil or diltiazem) a slow heart rate (bradycardia) or heart failure. You may need to be monitored very closely if you take these medications together. In some cases, it is not recommended to combine InnoPran XL with a calcium channel blocker.

Certain Arrhythmia Medications
Combining InnoPran XL with certain arrhythmia medications may cause a dangerously slow heart rate (bradycardia). You may need to be monitored very closely if you take these medications together. In some cases, it is not recommended to combine InnoPran XL with an arrhythmia medication.

Clonidine
If you take both clonidine and InnoPran XL, stopping clonidine (without stopping InnoPran XL) could increase the risk of dangerously high blood pressure, strokes, and other serious problems. It is advised to stop taking InnoPran XL several days before you gradually reduce the dose of clonidine. Do not attempt this without the approval and supervision of your healthcare provider.
