InnoPran XL

InnoPran XL is a prescription drug used for the treatment of high blood pressure. It comes in tablet form and is typically taken once a day at bedtime. By blocking certain types of beta receptors in the body, it can decrease heart rate and lower both systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Potential side effects of this medication include fatigue, constipation, and dizziness.

What Is InnoPran XL?

InnoPran XL® (propranolol XL) is a prescription medication approved to treat high blood pressure (known medically as hypertension). It can be used alone or in combination with other high blood pressure medicines. It is a long-acting medication that is taken just once a day. InnoPran XL capsules are specially designed to provide a peak level of the drug during mid- to late-morning, when blood pressure is usually at its highest.

How Does It Work?

InnoPran XL belongs to a group of drugs called beta-adrenergic blocking agents, more often known as
 beta blockers. As the name implies, these medications block beta receptors in the body. Beta receptors are located in a number of places within the body, including the heart and blood vessels. Stress hormones (such as adrenaline) bind to these receptors and cause certain reactions in the body, such as:
 
By blocking beta-1 receptors, InnoPran XL causes the reverse effect of stress hormones. It decreases heart rate and both systolic and diastolic blood pressure.
