Common Isoptin SR Side Effects

Isoptin SR has been studied thoroughly in clinical trials, in which the side effects of a group of people taking the drug are documented and then compared to the side effects of another group not taking the medicine. As a result, it is possible to see what side effects occur, how often they appear, and how they compare to the group not taking the medicine.
 
In these studies, the most common Isoptin SR side effects included:
 
  • Constipation -- in up to 7.3 percent of people
  • Dizziness -- up to 3.3 percent
  • Nausea -- up to 2.7 percent
  • Low blood pressure (hypotension) -- up to 2.5 percent
  • Headaches -- up to 2.2 percent.
     

Rare Isoptin SR Side Effects

Rare Isoptin SR side effects occur in less than 1 percent of people taking the medication. Because these side effects are so uncommon, it is difficult to tell whether they are actually caused by Isoptin SR or something else.
