Isoptin SR

Isoptin SR is typically prescribed to help control high blood pressure. Although it cannot cure the condition, the drug does cause blood vessels to relax, improving blood flow and making it easier for the heart to pump blood. Isoptin SR is usually taken once or twice a day. Possible side effects include nausea, dizziness, and constipation.

What Is Isoptin SR?

Isoptin SR^® (verapamil hydrochloride) is a prescription medication used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Isoptin SR tablets are specially designed to slowly release the medication over time.

Side Effects of Isoptin SR

As with any medicine, side effects are possible with Isoptin SR.

However, not everyone who takes the drug will experience side effects. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well. If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or can easily be treated by you or your healthcare provider. Serious side effects are less common.

Common side effects of Isoptin SR include but are not limited to:

Constipation
Dizziness
Nausea
Low blood pressure (hypotension)
Headaches.
