Warnings and Precautions With Lisinopril-Hydrochlorothiazide

Some warnings and precautions with lisinopril-hydrochlorothiazide to be aware of involve an increased risk for severe allergic reaction in people taking the medication. Other precautions and warnings for people taking lisinopril-hydrochlorothiazide involve side effects such as low blood pressure, an increased risk for infection, and swelling of the head and neck. Prior to starting the medication, let your healthcare provider know if you have existing health conditions such as heart disease, liver disease, or diabetes.

 lisinopril-hydrochlorothiazide (available as a generic or under the brand names Prinzide® or Zestoretic®), let your healthcare provider know if you have:

  • Are pregnant or trying to become pregnant (see Prinzide and Pregnancy)
  • Are breastfeeding
  • Are on dialysis
  • Drink alcohol regularly
  • Will be undergoing surgery or anesthesia.
     
Tell your healthcare provider about all other medicines you are taking, including prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
