Who Should Not Take Losartan-Hydrochlorothiazide?

You should not take losartan-hydrochlorothiazide if you:
 
  • Are allergic to Hyzaar, losartan, hydrochlorothiazide, Cozaar®, or any inactive component used to make Losartan-hydrochlorothiazide. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive ingredients in losartan-hydrochlorothiazide.
     
  • Are allergic to sulfonamide-derived drugs (also referred to as sulfa drugs). This includes certain types of antibiotics, diabetes medicines, and diuretics.
     
  • Have severe kidney disease.
     
  • Have liver disease.
