What Is Irbesartan/HCTZ?Irbesartan/HCTZ (Avalide®) is a combination medication used in the treatment of high blood pressure, known medically as hypertension. It combines two high blood pressure medications: irbesartan (Avapro®) and hydrochlorothiazide (Microzide®, Oretic®), or HCTZ for short.
Are There Side Effects?Just like any medicine, irbesartan/HCTZ can cause side effects. However, not everyone who takes the drug will experience problems. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well.
