Moduretic Side Effects

While Moduretic is generally well tolerated, some people experience side effects while taking the drug. Common Moduretic side effects include headache, nausea, and weakness. There are also serious side effects that can occur during treatment. Notify your healthcare provider immediately if you are experiencing side effects of Moduretic such as fainting spells or yellowing of the skin.

An Introduction to Moduretic Side Effects

As with any medicine, side effects are possible with Moduretic^® (amiloride-HCTZ); however, not everyone who takes the drug will experience side effects. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well. If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or can be easily treated by you or your healthcare provider.

Common Moduretic Side Effects

Moduretic has been studied thoroughly in clinical trials, in which a group of people taking the drug have side effects documented and compared to another group not taking the medicine.

This way, it is possible to see what side effects occur, how often they appear, and how they compare to the group not taking the medicine.

Based on these studies, the most common Moduretic side effects (occurring in 3 to 8 percent of people) include:

Headache
Weakness
Nausea or loss of appetite
Dizziness, which can be a sign of low blood pressure
Rash.

Other common side effects (occurring in 1 to 3 percent of people) include:

Fatigue
Diarrhea
Abdominal pain (stomach pain)
Leg aches
High potassium levels
Difficulty breathing
Itching
