Moexipril

In clinical studies, moexipril was shown to be an effective treatment for hypertension (high blood pressure). This drug comes in two strengths and is available in the form of a tablet. It is taken once or twice a day, ideally on an empty stomach. The most common side effects of this medication include cough, dizziness, and flu-like symptoms.

What Is Moexipril?

Moexipril hydrochloride (Univasc®) is a prescription medication used to treat high blood pressure (known medically as hypertension). It belongs to a class of drugs called angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors, or ACE inhibitors for short.

Are There Side Effects?

Just like any medicine, moexipril can cause side effects.
 However, not everyone who takes the drug will experience problems. Most people tolerate it quite well.
 
If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are treated easily by you or your healthcare provider. Serious reactions are less common.
