What Should I Tell My Healthcare Provider?

You should talk with your healthcare provider prior to taking nicardipine if you have:

Heart disease, including congestive heart failure
Low blood pressure
Liver problems, such as liver failure or cirrhosis
Kidney disease, such as kidney failure (renal failure)
An upcoming surgery
Aortic stenosis
Any allergies, including allergies to food, dyes, or preservatives.

Also, let your healthcare provider know if you are:

Pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant (see Cardene and Pregnancy)
Breastfeeding (see Cardene and Breastfeeding).

Make sure to tell your healthcare provider about any other medicines you are taking, including prescription and nonprescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
