Olmesartan medoxomil/amlodipine/hydrochlorothiazide may be a good option for people who are already taking two
blood pressure medications without adequate blood pressure control. It may also be an option for people who are already taking the individual components as three separate pills and would rather take just one pill. Olmesartan medoxomil/amlodipine/hydrochlorothiazide is not approved for use as the first-choice medication to treat
high blood pressure.
Just like any medicine, olmesartan medoxomil/amlodipine/hydrochlorothiazide can cause side effects.
However, not everyone who uses the drug will experience problems. Most people tolerate it quite well.
- Dizziness
- Swelling, or edema, in the hands, ankles, feet, or joints
- Headaches
- Tiredness
- Stuffy or runny nose and sore throat.
If reactions do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are treated easily by you or your healthcare provider. Serious side effects are less common.
