Side Effects of Olmesartan Medoxomil/Amlodipine/Hydrochlorothiazide

Although most people do not experience problems while using olmesartan medoxomil/amlodipine/hydrochlorothiazide, side effects are possible. Common ones include swelling, headaches, and dizziness. Serious problems have also been known to occur with this medication. Notify your healthcare provider right away if you experience difficulty breathing, decreased urination, chest pain, or other potentially dangerous side effects.

An Introduction to Side Effects of Olmesartan Medoxomil/Amlodipine/Hydrochlorothiazide

As with any medicine, olmesartan medoxomil/amlodipine/hydrochlorothiazide (Tribenzor™) can cause side effects. However, not everyone who takes the medication will have problems. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well. If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are treated easily by you or your healthcare provider.

Serious Side Effects

Some
 olmesartan medoxomil/amlodipine/hydrochlorothiazide side effects are potentially serious and should be reported immediately to your healthcare provider. These include but are not limited to:
 
  • Eye pain or changes in vision
  • Signs of very low blood pressure (hypotension), such as dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting
  • Decreased urine production, unexplained weight gain, or severe swelling in your legs, feet, ankles, or hands (which may be signs of kidney problems)
  • Worsening chest pain (angina) or heart attack
  • Changes in body electrolytes (such as sodium, potassium, magnesium, and calcium), which may cause the following symptoms:
 
    • Dry mouth
    • Feeling thirsty
    • Feeling weak
    • Extreme tiredness
    • Restlessness
    • Confusion
    • Muscle pains or cramps
    • Nausea and vomiting
    • Seizures
    • Decrease in urination
    • Increased heart rate (tachycardia)
 
  • Signs of an allergic reaction, such as:
     
    • An unexplained rash
    • Hives
    • Itching
    • Swelling of the mouth or throat
    • Wheezing
    • Difficulty breathing.
