Is It Safe for Use in Older Adults?

In clinical studies, side effects and blood pressure-lowering effects of olmesartan medoxomil/amlodipine/hydrochlorothiazide were similar in older and younger adults. However, this medicine may not be appropriate in people 75 years of age or older who have never taken amlodipine, one of the components of the medicine. People in this age group should be started on a lower dose of amlodipine than is available with olmesartan medoxomil/amlodipine/hydrochlorothiazide.
