Penbutolol

Penbutolol is a medication commonly used for the treatment of high blood pressure. It comes in tablet form and is available by prescription only. This drug is a beta blocker that is especially effective when used in combination with certain diuretics. Some of the most common side effects that have been reported with it include nausea, dizziness, and fatigue.

What Is Penbutolol?

Penbutolol sulfate (Levatol®) is a prescription medication approved to treat high blood pressure (known medically as hypertension). It can be used alone or in combination with other high blood pressure medications. It is especially useful when taken with certain diuretics ("water pills").

Potential Side Effects

Just like any medicine, penbutolol may cause side effects.
 However, not everyone who takes the drug will experience problems. Most people actually tolerate it quite well. If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or can easily be treated by you or your healthcare provider. Serious reactions are less common.
