Taztia XT

Taztia XT is a medication that can be prescribed to manage symptoms of hypertension and angina. It is a type of calcium channel blocker that works by relaxing blood vessels, which allows better blood flow and helps lower blood pressure. The extended-release capsules, which must be swallowed whole, are taken once daily. Potential side effects include indigestion, dizziness, and headache.

Who Makes Taztia XT?

Taztia XT is made by Watson Pharmaceuticals.

How Does It Work?

Taztia XT is part of a class of drugs called
calcium channel blockers. It helps slow down the rate at which calcium moves into your heart and into the blood vessel walls. This, in turn, helps to relax the vessels, which allows better blood flow and helps to lower blood pressure. This also makes it easier for the heart to pump blood.

There are two basic types of calcium channel blockers: dihydropyridine and non-dihydropyridine. The most important difference between the two types is that non-dihydropyridine calcium channel blockers can slow the heart rate, while dihydropyridine calcium channel blockers do not. Taztia XT is a non-dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker, which means it can decrease the heart rate, which makes the medication useful for certain types of irregular heart rhythms (arrhythmias).
