Tekturna HCT Drug Interactions

Tell your healthcare provider about all other medications you are taking before starting Tekturna HCT to avoid possible drug interactions. Tekturna HCT can interact negatively with medications such as ACE inhibitors, potassium products, and ARBs. These drug interactions with Tekturna HCT can cause the body to metabolize the medications differently than intended, possibly increasing your risk of side effects or decreasing the medications' effectiveness.

 

Tekturna HCT Drug Interactions: An Overview

 Tekturna HCT® (aliskiren-HCTZ) can potentially interact with a few different medications. Some of the medicines that may lead to Tekturna HCT drug interactions include:
 
  • ACE inhibitors, such as:
 
 
 
 
 
    • Potassium chloride (K-Dur®, Klor-Con®, Micro-K®)
    • Potassium citrate (Urocit-K®, Polycitra-K®)
    • Potassium gluconate
    • Potassium phosphate (Neutra-Phos-K®, K-Phos®)
    • Salt substitutes (used to flavor food)
