More Info on Teveten HCT Interactions

Taking Teveten HCT within 24 hours of receiving amifostine could lower your blood pressure to unsafe levels. Talk to your healthcare provider about this possible interaction if you receive amifostine treatment.
Angiotensin II Receptor Blockers (ARBs)
Combining Teveten HCT (which contains an ARB) with another ARB may increase the risk for certain side effects, such as high blood potassium, kidney problems, or extremely low blood pressure. Check with your healthcare provider before taking Teveten HCT with another ARB.
Taking a barbiturate with Teveten HCT may lower your blood pressure to unsafe levels. Talk to your healthcare provider about this potential interaction before taking these drugs together.
Bile Acid Sequestrant Cholesterol Medications
Bile acid sequestrant medications can bind to Teveten HCT in the gastrointestinal tract and decrease the amount of the medication absorbed into the bloodstream. Teveten HCT should be taken at least one hour before or four to six hours after a bile acid sequestrant to help minimize this interaction.
Calcium Supplements or Calcium-Containing Antacids
Taking Teveten HCT with calcium products may increase blood calcium levels (hypercalcemia). Talk to your healthcare provider about using calcium supplements or antacids that contain calcium if you are taking Teveten HCT.
Taking Teveten HCT with calcitriol may cause an elevated blood calcium level (hypercalcemia). Your healthcare provider may choose to monitor your blood calcium levels if you take these medications together.
Taking corticosteroids with Teveten HCT could cause low blood potassium levels (hypokalemia) or other electrolyte problems. If you take these medications together, your healthcare provider may monitor your blood electrolyte levels more closely.
