Understanding Teveten HCT Interactions

Pentoxifylline
Taking Teveten HCT with pentoxifylline may lower your blood pressure to unsafe levels. Your healthcare provider may choose to monitor your blood pressure more closely if you take these medications together.

Potassium-Containing Products
If you take potassium products with Teveten HCT, your blood potassium levels may become too high. Check with your healthcare provider before combining Teveten HCT with any potassium product.

Potassium-Sparing Diuretics
Combining Teveten HCT with potassium-sparing diuretics could increase your risk of high blood potassium (hyperkalemia). It could also lower your blood pressure to unsafe levels. Talk to your healthcare provider about this potential interaction before taking these drugs together.

Rituximab
Taking Teveten HCT within 12 hours of receiving rituximab could cause your blood pressure to lower to unsafe levels. Talk to your healthcare provider about this possible interaction if you receive rituximab treatment.

Salicylates
Salicylates may decrease the effectiveness of Teveten HCT. Your healthcare provider may choose to monitor your blood pressure more closely if you take these medications together. Aspirin doses below 100 mg a day do not seem to interact with Teveten HCT.

Tolvaptan
Combining Teveten HCT with tolvaptan could increase your risk for high blood potassium (hyperkalemia). Your healthcare provider may want to monitor your blood potassium levels if you take these medications together.

Topiramate
Hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ), one of the components in Teveten HCT, can increase the level of topiramate in the blood, increasing the risk for topiramate side effects. Taking both of these medications together may also cause low blood potassium. Your healthcare provider may need to decrease your topiramate dosage and monitor your blood potassium levels.
