Verelan PM Interactions Explained

Verelan PM is combined with any of the drugs listed above.
Alcohol
Verelan PM can decrease your body's ability to remove alcohol from your body, which can result in higher blood alcohol levels and prolonged intoxication. Be sure to use caution while drinking alcohol if you are taking Verelan PM.
Aspirin
Combining aspirin with Verelan PM may increase your risk of bleeding. Make sure to talk to your healthcare provider before combining aspirin with Verelan PM.
Benzodiazepines
Verelan PM can increase the level of certain benzodiazepines in your blood, increasing your risk of side effects. Your healthcare provider may need to decrease your benzodiazepine dose.
Beta Blockers
Combining Verelan PM with a beta blocker may increase your risk of side effects, especially low
blood pressure (hypotension) and a slow heart rate (bradycardia). Your healthcare provider should closely monitor your heart rate and blood pressure if you are taking a beta blocker with Verelan PM.
Other Blood Pressure Medications
Buspirone (Buspar)
Verelan PM can increase the level of
buspirone in your blood, increasing your risk of side effects. Your healthcare provider may need to decrease your buspirone dosage.
Carbamazepine (Tegretol, Tegretol XR)
Verelan PM can increase the level of
carbamazepine in your blood, increasing your risk of side effects. Your healthcare provider may need to decrease your
carbamazepine dosage.
