Generic Zaroxolyn

Zaroxolyn is currently available in a generic version. Generic Zaroxolyn is available in three strengths -- metolazone 2.5 mg, 5 mg, and 10 mg tablets. Several companies currently manufacture generic Zaroxolyn, including Eon Labs, Mylan Pharmaceuticals, and Upstate Pharma. As with the brand-name version, the generic version is used to treat high blood pressure and water retention associated with certain medical conditions.

Generic Zaroxolyn: An Overview

Zaroxolyn® (metolazone) is a prescription medication that has been licensed to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and water retention (edema). It is part of a group of medications known as diuretics.
 
Zaroxolyn was first manufactured by Celltech Pharmaceuticals, although it is now made by UCB Pharma, a company that took over Celltech Pharmaceuticals. However, the patent for the drug has since expired and generic Zaroxolyn is now available.
